Job Title: IP Deployment Engineer

Role Overview:
As an IP Deployment Engineer, you will play a critical role in deploying, configuring, and maintaining our large-scale production network infrastructure. You will work across multiple environments, including data centers, Points of Presence (PoP), and edge networks, ensuring seamless integration of new technologies and ensuring that network services remain highly available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Infrastructure Deployment: Deploy, configure, and support the network and server infrastructure for production and corporate environments across data centers, PoPs, edge networks, and CDNs.
- Onsite & Remote Support: Provide on-the-ground network support at local data center campuses and remote support for PoP sites, collaborating with vendor support teams.
- Maintenance & Upgrades: Schedule and perform network maintenance, upgrades, and repairs, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal network performance.
- Power & Equipment Requirements: Work with Engineering, Facilities Operations, and vendors to calculate and meet power requirements for network equipment.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Network Engineering, Logistics, and vendors to integrate new equipment and technologies into the network.
- Troubleshooting & Provisioning: Work with network provisioning teams to activate new circuits and collaborate with vendors to resolve network issues.
- Documentation & Automation: Contribute to the development of internal documentation, automation scripts, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Best Practices & Training: Follow and refine best practices for data center and PoP operations and provide training as required.
- On-call Support: Participate in on-call duties and follow the escalation process to ensure continuous infrastructure support.
Skills & Experience:
- Certifications: CCNP/JNCIP (or equivalent) preferred.
- Network Infrastructure Expertise: Experience in new PoP or data center builds and familiarity with fiber-optic and copper/coax construction.
- Fiber-optic Technology: Strong knowledge of cable types, connectors, optical transport technologies, and rack and stack processes.
- Network Optimization & Support: Expertise in network optimizations, migrations, upgrades, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- DCN Expertise: Experience in data center networks (DCN) installation, migrations, and upgrades.
- Vendor Knowledge: Familiarity with devices and systems from Juniper, Ciena, Infinera, Cisco, Arista, and ZPE.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities; programming/scripting skills are a plus.
- Documentation & Process Improvement: Attention to detail in maintaining network documentation and a proactive approach to process improvements.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively within a global team.
