Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) - Washington, DC

What You Will Do
Lead Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes across multiple government customers, working at the intersection of cybersecurity and policy
Provide strategic guidance on security requirements and control implementations
Develop comprehensive System Security Plans (SSP) and architecture documentation
Represent the organization in government assessments and security audits
Partner with engineering teams to implement effective security controls
Drive continuous improvement in security compliance processes
Ideal Candidate Background
Active US Security Clearance at the Top Secret level
Experience with cybersecurity in US Government contexts
Proven track record implementing Risk Management Frameworks (RMF)
Strong background in information security fundamentals including authentication, encryption, firewalls, vulnerability scanning, SIEM / SOAR, and audit logs
1-5 years of experience in information security
Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
History of successful ATO achievements
Strong project leadership capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with multiple government agencies
Background in software development security
Knowledge of emerging cybersecurity trends and technologies
Track record of process improvement initiatives
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary Range : $135,000 - $180,000
