Meade, MDSalary : $150,000 - $160,000Recruiting Heroes is seeking a Solutions Architect to join our client in support of their DoD CIO contract.Clearance = Active Secret, Top Secret preferred.Currently, this is mostly telework with occasional requirement to report onsite at Mark Center or Pentagon or DISA Ft. Meade.Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect with extensive experience in Department of Defense (DoD) IT systems, commercial cloud technologies, and Zero Trust Architecture. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical knowledge, coupled with strong executive communication and presentation skills, particularly using Microsoft PowerPoint, to engage stakeholders at all levels. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge IT solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of DoD missions.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitectural Leadership : Design secure, scalable, and mission-aligned IT solutions for DoD environments.Lead architecture efforts for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, integrating commercial cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).Develop and apply Zero Trust Architecture principles to enhance security and compliance.Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with senior DoD leadership, contractors, and stakeholders to understand mission requirements and align IT solutions with operational goals.Communicate complex technical solutions in clear, executive-level presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.Act as a trusted advisor on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices.Technical Expertise : Provide guidance on the adoption of commercial cloud solutions, including migration strategies, security configurations, and operational efficiencies.Lead initiatives to modernize legacy systems, ensuring alignment with DoD standards and frameworks such as NIST and DISA STIGs.Develop comprehensive technical documentation, roadmaps, and playbooks for IT deployments.Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with cybersecurity teams to ensure solutions adhere to Zero Trust principles, including identity and access management (IAM), micro-segmentation, and continuous monitoring.Partner with DevSecOps teams to integrate CI / CD pipelines and agile practices into cloud and on-premise environments.Mentor technical teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.Required QualificationsSecurity Clearance Active Top SecretExperience : Minimum of 10 years of experience in DoD IT environments, including system architecture, networking, and cybersecurity.Demonstrated expertise in commercial cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).Extensive experience with Zero Trust Architecture principles, frameworks, and tools.Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of DoD security frameworks, including NIST 800-207, NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs, and RMF processes.Hands-on experience with hybrid cloud implementations, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).Familiarity with modern authentication protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OIDC) and Zero Trust technologies.Soft Skills : Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to create compelling PowerPoint presentations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.Ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders in high-pressure environments.Preferred QualificationsIndustry certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Architect, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).Experience in DevSecOps environments, including tools like GitLab, Jenkins, and Docker.Who We Are : Recruiting Heroes (RecruitingHeroesLLC.com) is an employment agency founded by a former First Responder.
