Job Summary:
Nelson-Jameson is a leading distributor of products and services to the food and dairy industries and is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to join our growing team. This outside sales role will partner closely with an inside sales Account Support Representative to deliver exceptional customer support and drive sales growth in the assigned established territory. The goal is to enhance customer relationships, retain and grow existing business, and attract new customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow assigned customer accounts, focusing on increasing gross margin dollars.
- Utilize CRM systems to document customer interactions and sales opportunities/pipeline.
- Conduct regular customer visits providing information on products and services and customer service, with 5-8 days of overnight travel a month to be expected.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Provide quotes, supporting documentation and technical data, and close deals.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer service issues.
- Attend industry events, meetings, and training sessions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); Bachelor's degree in Business or related field (preferred).
- Must have 2 years of B2B outside sales and food manufacturing experience (or knowledge) with a preference to dairy.
- Proven skills in territory management and account development.
- Proficiency in ERP, CRM, and Google Suite.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
