Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Engineer Manager to lead the maintenance, engineering, and facility operations of our food manufacturing plant near Huntsville, Texas. This role ensures that all equipment, utilities, and infrastructure are operating efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food safety regulations. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in maintenance leadership, capital project management, and process optimization in a food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Senior Facilities Engineer Manager will oversee the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of plant equipment, utilities, and infrastructure.
- Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Manage capital projects, including facility upgrades, equipment installations, and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all FDA, OSHA, and local regulatory requirements, as well as food safety and GMP standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians and engineers, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage the facilities and maintenance budget, including cost control and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with operations, quality assurance, and production teams to optimize equipment performance and facility operations.
- Implement energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
- Maintain and manage vendor relationships, ensuring high-quality service and cost-effective solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, applying root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, ideally Electrical Engineering
- 7 years of experience in facilities engineering, maintenance, or plant operations within food manufacturing.
- Ability to commute to Huntsville, Texas (*relocation assistance potentially available*)
- Strong knowledge of industrial refrigeration, boilers, HVAC, compressed air systems, and wastewater treatment in a food production setting.
- Experience leading capital projects, including vendor selection, budgeting, and execution.
- Leverages expertise in performance data analysis to identify trends, diagnose issues, and develop actionable strategies that enhance facility efficiency and reliability.
- Applies advanced knowledge of asset management, preventive maintenance programs, and energy optimization strategies to drive operational improvements and support business goals.
- In-depth understanding of FDA, OSHA, and food safety compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Professional certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Professional Engineer (PE) a plus.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM methodologies.
- Knowledge of automation and control systems in food processing environments.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $100,000-140,000
