Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our client in Camden, SC on 1st shift in a direct hire capacity. This role is critical to supporting plant operations by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience, and a proactive approach to equipment maintenance and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

Install, Maintain & Repair – 50%

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and facility equipment.
• Conduct emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during downtime.
• Diagnose issues, replace/repair parts, and perform adjustments to ensure operational functionality.
• Execute simple machinist and mechanic duties, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repair.

Tools, Safety & Records – 40%

• Utilize a wide range of hand/power tools, meters, and material handling equipment.
• Identify and report faulty operations or defective materials to appropriate supervision.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with safety standards.
• Keep accurate electronic records of maintenance activities and equipment repairs.

Emergency Response – 10%

• Respond to urgent equipment failures or safety issues during and outside of scheduled hours.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• One of the following:
• Certified Journeyman with 2 years in Electrical or Mechanical trades.
• Associate’s Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical field 2 years hands-on experience.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in industrial maintenance.
• Ability to operate motorized equipment (e.g., scissor lift, boom lift, forklift).
• Proficient in using powered, hand, and vibratory tools.
• Must provide basic personal tools.
• Experience with 480V, 220V, 120V, and low voltage DC systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in at least one primary trade and two complementary maintenance skills.
• Strong background in troubleshooting within industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with robotics, PLC logic, process flow, and P&ID diagrams.
• Welding and robotic system experience.
• Ongoing or completed technical coursework through Central Carolina Technical College or similar (students must maintain passing grades).
