Operations Manager- Construction
A dynamic, rapidly growing, and reputable construction company has an opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager. This key team member will be responsible to direct, coordinate and manage material, direct field labor, and related operations of the company so that may operate and control Direct Costs under the optimum conditions of productivity, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, safety and ease of operations.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of to ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Complete projects within budget guidelines and profit objectives.
- Manage a team of employees, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to drive success.
- Work closely with clients to ensure that their needs are met and that they are satisfied with our work.
- Ensure that safety and regulatory compliance requirements are met in all operations.
- Continuously identify new business opportunities and develop strategies for growth.
- Responsible for the profitability and on-time delivery of all trade work completed.
- Perform employee evaluations of all subordinates.
- Review any change orders for each project and ensure approvals.
- Ensures that safety standards and procedures are followed
Essential Requirements:
- Verifiable five (5) plus years of experience as a Leader in the construction industry with a focus on excavation and setting elevations. Foundation experience is a plus.
- Proven experience in leading a team of workers, and/or subcontractors with project management experience
- Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, local, state, and federal regulations and requirements pertaining to the construction industry
- Experience with managing profitability, job costing, inventory, equipment, safety, and measuring metrics
- Excellent Problem-Solving skills are a must. Ability to make decisions, generate processes and optimize production
- Team oriented leadership qualities that will ensure management of all staff.
- Proven competency in interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated mathematical aptitude.
- Valid driver’s license.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED is required. A college degree in Construction Management or similar discipline is highly desirable.
