The Machining & Assembly Production Manager is accountable for meeting customer delivery targets and ensuring efficient and effective production within the machining and assembly department. This role involves leading a motivated team, adhering to established procedures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing product quality and overall productivity. The manager will work closely with various departments to ensure smooth production operations, optimize processes, and maintain high levels of employee satisfaction and performance. Experience in the automotive industry or with CNC machinery is a requirement.

Key Responsibilities of the Production Manager:
Employee Leadership & Development
- Lead, train, and inform employees within the machining and assembly department.
- Coach direct reports (shift leaders) to ensure their success in leading teams.
- Conduct regular employee performance reviews to ensure continuous improvement and accountability.
- Foster a high level of employee satisfaction and morale.
- Schedule and conduct plant meetings to ensure clear communication across shifts.
Production Management & Efficiency
- Ensure on-time and efficient production, coordinating with supporting departments (Planning & Logistics, Maintenance, Quality).
- Analyze downtime and implement improvements to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Set and achieve production goals, focusing on OEE, scrap reduction, and other performance metrics.
- Plan the production layout, workflow, manufacturing methods, and workforce allocation for optimal performance.
Quality & Process Optimization
- Drive quality control optimization within the production department to minimize scrap and improve product quality.
- Ensure compliance with approved methods, quality standards, and all relevant policies (including safety, quality, etc.).
- Maintain a clean and safe production floor, continuously improving the 5S system.
- Implement and support the Standardization program across the production area to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Technical & Operational Responsibility
- Support the launch of new customer projects, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with headquarters on the development, negotiation, and management of production equipment, tooling, and supplies.
- Provide technical support to customers to ensure high-quality service and satisfaction.
Production Manager Requirements:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a machining and assembly environment.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control standards, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Ability to drive employee development and maintain high employee engagement.
- Experience with production planning, equipment management, and cross-functional team coordination.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on improving operational efficiency and quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members, other departments, and customers.
