The Bayfront Medical Building complex, located near the UCSF Wayne and Gladys Valley Center for Vision (WGVCV), is critical to supporting UCSF Health’s operations and the growing demand for outpatient surgery. We are seeking a Senior Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with extensive experience in performing diagnostic sonograms in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic sonograms, demonstrating anatomy and pathology for interpretation.
- Obtain necessary clinical information from physicians before conducting exams.
- Prepare patients and equipment for imaging, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Critique images to identify suboptimal techniques and equipment malfunctions.
- Perform portable exams and assist with transporting patients in gurneys or wheelchairs.
- Maintain ARDMS credentials in Abdominal and OB/GYN Sonography.
- Flexibility to work at all UCSF Medical Center locations as needed, including variable shifts and weekend/holiday coverage.
- ARDMS Credentials in Abdominal and OB/GYN Sonography.
- BLS Certification (Basic Life Support).
- 2-5 years of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or equivalent experience in a similar department at UCSF or another institution.
- Graduate of a CAHEEP-accredited ultrasound program.
- Experience in OB/GYN ultrasound, as well as thyroid, transplant, kidney, liver, pancreas, and sterile procedures.
- Ability to rotate shifts and provide coverage on weekends, holidays, and on-call.
- Flexibility to work variable hours and locations, with the Bayfront Medical Building operating from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, 7 days a week.
- Previous experience working within UCSF or a comparable healthcare setting.
- Senior Sonographer skills, as recognized by UCSF’s Section Chief and Supervisor.
