The Material Expeditor II plays a critical role in facilitating the delivery, assembly, and distribution of parts to ensure the efficient flow of materials and adherence to production schedules.
This position involves close collaboration with various teams, including Planners/Schedulers, Buyers, Quality, Program Management, and Manufacturing personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform activities to arrange delivery, assembly, and distribution of parts to expedite material flow and meet production schedules.
- Communicate directly with suppliers while maintaining respectful connections with Purchasing Buyers and Management.
- Gather, collect, record, track, and verify data and information from multiple sources.
- Utilize software to compile, review, and analyze data to generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, correspondence, and presentations.
- Design processes to enhance workflow and provide cross-training as needed.
- Provide data and information regarding functional unit processes and procedures to others.
- Maintain the highest ethical personal and professional standards.
- Track ITAR parts and participate in other projects and initiatives as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of relatable experience.
- Knowledge of computer use, with experience in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong writing skills for routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective verbal communication skills for presentations to groups.
- Problem-solving abilities and common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in various forms.
- Ability to apply general concepts to specific cases and make independent decisions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask in stressful situations.
- Knowledge of SAP systems.
- Two years of experience in a similar role, with knowledge of purchase orders and buying processes.
- Experience working with customers and/or suppliers
