The Survey Cad Technician plays a pivotal role in the success of engineering, construction, and architectural projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed survey drawings and plans using CAD software.
  • Assist in collecting field data for surveys using various instruments.
  • Review and analyze survey data for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with surveyors and engineers to clarify project requirements.
  • Generate topographic maps, boundary surveys, and construction layouts.
  • Update and maintain project-related files and documentation.
  • Provide support during construction by interpreting survey data.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist in interpreting legal descriptions and easement documents.
  • Utilize GIS technology for spatial analysis and mapping.
  • Conduct quality control on CAD drawings and survey data.
  • Communicate project status and updates to team members.
  • Support the development of project proposals and cost estimates.
  • Participate in field surveys and assist in data collection activities.
  • Stay updated with advancements in surveying techniques and technology.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
  • Experience with surveying instruments such as total stations and GPS.
  • Knowledge of survey principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with GIS applications and mapping techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills for data interpretation.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural and engineering plans.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
  • Solid understanding of local land use regulations and zoning laws.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a survey-related role.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety and quality control standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
