Overview
The Controls Electrical Engineer plays a critical role in the development and implementation of automated control systems that enhance the efficiency and safety of manufacturing processes. These engineers are responsible for designing, analyzing, and maintaining electrical control systems, ensuring the optimal operation of machinery and equipment. The importance of this position lies in its direct impact on productivity and safety; the engineer must ensure that all systems function accurately and reliably, thereby minimizing downtime and potential hazards. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the Controls Electrical Engineer will also contribute to the innovation of processes through the integration of advanced control technologies. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills, as engineering solutions must be communicated clearly to other team members and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop control systems for electrical equipment.
  • Program PLCs and ensure proper integration with machinery.
  • Conduct system testing and validation to ensure operational reliability.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for control systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers and team members on project specifications.
  • Perform troubleshooting on control systems, resolving any issues that arise.
  • Implement upgrades and modifications to existing systems.
  • Conduct training sessions for operators on new systems and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Collect and analyze data to improve system performance.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to system optimizations.
  • Coordinate with vendors for equipment procurement and support.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance teams as required.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies in control engineering.
  • Prepare reports and present findings to management.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in controls engineering.
  • Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Strong understanding of control theory and system dynamics.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and HMI development.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for circuit design.
  • Knowledge of safety standards (e.g., NFPA, IEC).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work on a team and manage individual responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Experience with energy management systems is a plus.
  • Professional Engineering license (or working towards it) preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software tools.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Salary : $82,700 - $110,600
