About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our farm operations team as a Veterinary Director - Animal Care and Use. This role will oversee the health and welfare of animals at our 40-acre antibody production facility.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee animal care and use program to ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and applicable regulations.
- Manage program of veterinary care, including provision of veterinary oversight for all clinical treatments and programs.
- Act as a voting member on the IACUC.
- Assist in preparation of investigation reports for the CAPA program.
- Provide training to animal care staff on routine clinical procedures.
- Prescribe and direct all clinical treatments as needed.
- Supervise production and husbandry personnel to ensure smooth operation of the farm.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinarian Medicine Doctor (VMD) degree required.
- Pennsylvania veterinary license required.
- Minimum 5 years in a veterinary practice, with at least 5 years of experience working with laboratory animals.
- Farm animal husbandry experience is a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows-based computer systems.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with cGMP quality systems and manufacturing operations.
