About the Role:
The Senior Farm Operations Manager will oversee the health and welfare of animals at our 40-acre antibody production facility. This role ensures that all animal studies are conducted with the goal of delivering high-quality products and services to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Direct oversight of up to 10 personnel on the farm.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding animal care and use.
- Manage farm operations, including veterinary oversight for clinical treatments and programs.
- Act as a voting member on the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
- Assist in preparing investigation reports for the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) program.
- Provide training to animal care staff on routine clinical procedures.
- Prescribe and direct all clinical treatments as needed.
- Supervise production and husbandry personnel to ensure smooth operation of the farm.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinarian Medicine Doctor (VMD) degree required.
- Pennsylvania veterinary license required.
- Minimum 5 years in a veterinary practice, with at least 5 years of experience working with laboratory animals.
- Farm animal husbandry experience is a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows-based computer systems.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with cGMP quality systems and manufacturing operations.
