Locums - Pendleton, Oregon, General Surgery Job
Clinical Role:
- We are seeking 2-3 board-certified general surgeons to join our team for a 1-year locum tenens assignment.
- The ideal candidate will work 7-10 day block schedules and provide coverage for scheduled clinic patients, 24-hour call, post-op care, and emergency surgeries.
- The surgeon will also be on-call for the hospital during their scheduled shift and from 5:00pm - 7:30am the next day.
- Tuesday schedule includes responding to emergencies in the ED and performing surgeries in the OR.
- This is an acute care and clinic practice setting.
- Duties include providing patient care, responding to traumas, and performing required procedures.
- Days per month: 20 to be covered by the same two to three surgeons.
- Required Procedures:
- Diagnostic Colonoscopies
- Screening Colonoscopies
- Cholecystectomy
- Hernia repair with mesh
- Diagnostic EGD
- Excision of breast
- Repair abdominal wall with synthetic substitute
- Appendectomy
- Skin Excision
- Hemorrhoidectomy
- EMR: Meditech in the hospital and eCW in the clinic.
- Support Staff: Complete staff in the hospital and typical support medical assistants and RN (as necessary) in the clinic.
- Reason for Coverage: Retirement.
- Operational Statistics:
- 500 surgeries per year or 10 per week, 75% of which are outpatient.
- Inpatient admissions per week: 2.
- Clinic patients/day: 14-16.
- Certifications and Requirements:
- Board Certified.
- State License - Oregon required.
- Residency Requirements/Fellowship - Required.
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, DEA - Required.
- Malpractice - Clean Preferred.
