A day in the life:
- Configuring and maintaining continuous delivery pipelines to ship quality code quickly
- Debugging distributed systems configure tooling to proactively detect and mitigate bugs
- Building infrastructure as code solutions
- Deployment of new features and changes are fast, reliable, and repeatable.
- Utilizing the latest in build, test automation, and continuous integration tools to orchestrate deployment pipeline processes.
- Leveraging the latest AWS cloud infrastructure tools.
- Automating, containerizing, and auto-scaling solutions for a variety of target environments including web applications, search and analysis apps, and streaming data pipelines.
What you bring to the table:
All of our cloud engineers need the following skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Oracle, or Google Cloud.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
For this particular role, you will also need:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Proficient in Python, Bash, and higher-level languages (Go, Kotlin, Java, or Rust).
- Experience as a software developer and contributor to open source communities.
- Experience designing, developing, deploying, testing in the AWS ecosystem or similar cloud provider
- A team player capable of high performance and flexibility in a dynamic working environment.
- Expertise in Kubernetes cluster administration, UNIX/Linux systems, and CI/CD pipelines with automated testing support.
- Skilled in infrastructure as code tools (CloudFormation, Terraform) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet).
- Deep knowledge of AWS services across:
- Management: CloudWatch, IAM, CloudTrail, EC2 Systems Manager.
- IaaS: EC2, VPC, EBS, ELB, KMS, Config, SNS, SQS, SES, SWF, S3, Glacier, EKS.
- Data Management: Redshift, RDS, EMR, Data Pipeline, Kinesis, DynamoDB.
- Expertise in Git for version control.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tools: Build automation (Maven, Gradle, Ant); CI tools (Jenkins, Travis, Bamboo); Testing (JUnit, Selenium, jMeter, Gatling); Code quality (Sonar, Cast, Coverity); Static scanning (Contrast, Veracode, Fortify); Binary repositories (Artifactory, Nexus); Application performance monitoring (Jaeger, Zipkin, AWS X-Ray, AppDynamics); Proficient in containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) and service mesh solutions (Istio, Consul)
- Monitoring & Logging - Competent in solutions such as Prometheus, Icinga, CloudWatch, Splunk, and the ELK stack.
The total package:
- Disclosed pay ranges are a general guideline, and are not a guarantee of a final salary or compensation. Our approach in determining final salaries takes into consideration a number of factors such as education, certifications, total years of relevant professional experience, actual level of expertise, and the responsibilities of the role itself.
- Based on the outlined roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is: $150,000 - $250,000.
