A day in the life:
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Contracts to oversee the full lifecycle of contracts and subcontracts across the organization. This critical leadership role supports proposal development, enhances vendor management, and drives process improvements aligned with our corporate strategy.
The ideal candidate is a trusted, adaptable leader who excels in fast-paced environments and is deeply committed to compliance, operational excellence, and fueling company-wide growth. You will be responsible for ensuring Red Alpha’s interests are protected through sound contractual documentation and for maintaining strict adherence to applicable federal regulations.
This role will champion best practices and innovation in the contracting process, aligning with corporate strategy to drive business efficiency, reduce risk, and support scalable growth.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Managing and leading the full lifecycle of prime contracts and subcontracts, including
negotiations, administration, compliance and closeouts. - Proactively identifies and resolves complex prime contract issues by developing and
implementing effective solutions in line with organizational standards. - Advising internal business members, subordinates, and management on contractual rights
and obligations, and providing interpretation of contract terms and conditions. - Supporting the development and readiness of contracts and subcontracts functions, with
the ability to lead and scale teams as the company grows. - Leading contract strategy development, compliance monitoring, and risk mitigation
efforts in alignment with FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific regulations. - Overseeing vendor management, including performance monitoring, and risk mitigation.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with business development, finance, and executive
leadership to support corporate initiatives and long-term growth strategy. - Driving process improvement initiatives, including policy development, systems
optimization, and operational efficiencies. - Utilizing Unanet to manage contract-related data, support project control, and improve
reporting accuracy. - Leading and implementing processes related to joint ventures, OCI, and ITAR
compliance to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. - Assisting in the development and review of cost proposals; and subcontractor RFPs to
ensure compliance and competitive pricing. - Ensuring company-wide compliance with new government regulations, implementing
necessary updates to policies and procedures. - Driving the development and implementation of new contract-related functions, tools,
and workflows that promote operational efficiency and enable strategic growth.
What you bring to the table:
- 20 years of progressive experience in government contracting, with direct leadership of
contracts and subcontracts functions. - Strong expertise in federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS), DoD/IC contract
management, and regulatory compliance. - Deep background in all facets of government contracts with subject matter expertise in
federal contracting and procurement concepts including contract types (FP, T&M, CPFF, CPAF, GWACs). - Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and manage complex contractual
relationships in a fast-paced environment. - Hands-on experience supporting proposals, pricing strategy, vendor oversight, and
process implementation. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficient in Unanet and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
- TS/SCI with Polygraph level of security clearance.

The total package:
- Disclosed pay ranges are a general guideline, and are not a guarantee of a final salary or compensation. Our approach in determining final salaries takes into consideration a number of factors such as education, certifications, total years of relevant professional experience, actual level of expertise, and the responsibilities of the role itself.
- Based on the outlined roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is: $170,000 - $190,000.
