What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Engineer (TS/SCI with Poly required) position at Red Alpha?
A day in the life:
As a Junior Software Engineer, you will develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Work individually or as part of a team.
- Review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
- Resolve software problem reports, and utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment
- Provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
- Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
- Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
What you bring to the table:
- No demonstrated experience is required
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university OR 4 years of additional software engineering experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
- A US Government TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph

- Disclosed pay ranges are a general guideline, and are not a guarantee of a final salary or compensation. Our approach in determining final salaries takes into consideration a number of factors such as education, certifications, total years of relevant professional experience, actual level of expertise, and the responsibilities of the role itself.
- Based on the outlined roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is $85,000 - $175,000.
