Purpose: The Dispatcher oversees the coordination and aligning of training aircraft, instructors, and students to ensure that each clients meets his/her training goals. Additionally, assist in coordinating aircraft maintenance.
Job Functions:
- Key Holder: responsible for opening and closing the hangar at the open and close of business hours 6:00 AM-3:00 PM (varying hours in summer)
- Greeting guests upon their arrival and providing a hospitable welcome
- Receiving phone calls/emails and responding to customers’ questions in a timely manner
- Assisting customers throughout the registration and enrollment process
- Conducting reservations and modifying existing bookings to help schedule students and aircraft renters
- Drive sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge (flight kits and apparel)
- Processing customer payments
- Assists in clerical tasks: organizing and managing files and supporting other staff with organizational tasks
- Keeping the hangar and aircraft clean, neat, orderly, and sanitized at all times
- Fueling aircraft daily to ensure duration of the flight time
- Towing and Storing aircraft safely and effectively
- Cleaning aircraft weekly
- Interact with airport staff, airport security, and patrons to ensure secure departures and arrivals to the school
- Guiding, towing, parking, greeting and organizing aircraft that are arriving or departing from its appropriate flight parking area
- Scheduling maintenance for aircraft
- Creating daily reports for direct supervisors
- Mentoring/training for separate shift dispatchers
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements: High school diploma or GED
Experience in sales (preferred). Good communication skills (written and oral). Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-functional atmosphere. Good interpersonal skills. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word. Flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, and shift changes as required
Must pass a background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
