We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team in a unique childcare setting, caring for infants ages 7 weeks to 33 months. As an Infant /Toddler Room Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our lead teachers while providing loving care and developmental activities for our young learners.
Position Details:
- Job Type: Full-time (8-hour shifts)
- Location: Infant (7weeks to 12 mo), wobbler (1's) and toddlers (2's) rooms working alongside two lead teachers
- Children: Up to 8 infants, ages 7 weeks to 33 months
Responsibilities:
- Support children’s basic needs, including diapering, feeding, and offering comfort when needed
- Take children outside daily (weather permitting) for stroller walks or playground time
- Introduce children to age-appropriate art, science, and gross motor movement activities
- Read to children, engage in floor play, and provide physical affection for comfort
- Assist in setting up projects and activities for the children
- Perform diaper changes and prepare food/bottles
- Maintain a clean and organized environment by performing light housekeeping tasks
- Complete professional development requirements as directed by the center director
- Meet the physical demands of the position, including sitting on the floor and lifting children up to 30 lbs
Education & Experience:
- 2 years of experience in an infant or childcare setting or as a nanny
- Completed or near completion of a BA in Early Education or related fields is preferred but not required
- Experience with NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) standards is a plus
- Prior experience working in a licensed childcare setting with young children is favorable
