Join Our Team This Summer as a Lead Camp Counselor (Ages 3–4)
Are you passionate about early childhood education and ready for a summer full of creativity, play, and meaningful connections? Red Barn Children’s Center is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Lead Camp Counselor to guide a group of curious and energetic 3–4-year-olds through eight weeks of engaging, theme-based activities in a supportive, joyful environment.
Position Details:
- Dates: June 16 – August 8 (Required staff orientation during the week of June 9)
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Hours: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (shift options available)
- Group: 3–4-year-olds; maximum group size of 15 children with two assistant staff members
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and lead developmentally appropriate daily activities based on weekly themes
- Engage children in both indoor and outdoor play, including water and nature-based experiences
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children during swimming and other activities
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment that supports social-emotional growth
- Communicate effectively with families and collaborate with fellow staff members
Qualifications:
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with young children, ideally in a preschool or camp setting
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (training available through Red Barn)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- A joyful, flexible attitude and a genuine love for working with young children
