Seeking veterinary students to visit our practice to gain mentorship, hands-on experiences of all kinds, and support in their journey to becoming a veterinarian. Job opportunity available with Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program offered in our county (up to $40,000 loan reimbursement per year)!
Red Barn Veterinary Clinic has been serving Oakland and the surrounding communities for over fifty years, practicing medicine on patients of all species. Our team currently consists of three doctors with an incredible, highly experienced support staff including two Licensed Veterinary Technicians. Small animal services include preventative care, surgery, dentistry, and emergency services. We offer in-house diagnostics including radiology and blood work performed on site. The large animal component to our practice serves cow/calf producers, backgrounders, feedyards, and a few dairies. Routine pregnancy checks, brucellosis vaccination, working calves, and dystocia correction keep us busy throughout the year. We also offer ambulatory services at locations with adequate facilities to bring medicine directly to our producers. Although cattle make up the vast majority of our large animal work, we also see small ruminants and the occasional horse.
Within an hour's driving distance of Omaha, there are ample opportunities for activities in the big city while staying in a small town. We have housing available for interested veterinary students to extern at our practice.
