Ideal position for an entry-level candidate or a student who can work 3:30-6:00 p.m. weekdays and Saturday mornings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists veterinary technicians, doctors, and receptionists as needed.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the hospital, as well as patient wards, cages, and runs.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain kennels, operating rooms, exam rooms, cages, and surgical equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness by performing tasks such as sweeping/mopping floors, wiping counters, taking out the trash, cleaning bathrooms, doing laundry, and washing employee dishes.
- Wash and sanitize pet dishes
- Check walls, doors and counters and clean as needed to remove hair, body fluids, and dirt.
- Dispose of used needles and syringes and other sharp objects as set forth by the practice policy and OSHA standards.
- Assist other staff members with tasks.
- Stock hospital supplies.
- Move boxes, equipment or furniture as needed.
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly cleaning lists as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be punctual and dependable. Tardiness and absenteeism is not tolerated.
- Effectively communicate in English both in writing and orally.
- Carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch frequently, and lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain confidence and composure around pets.
