The Head of Regional Media, Central is a part of the MLT for the region in the Central and is a part of the national RBMNLT. This role is responsible for proactively leading all aspects of media execution in the region: Communications, Production, Production Management, Creator Marketing and the maintenance of distribution deals for Red Bull in the Central region. She/he applies his/her sharp editorial skills to identify the best stories and create differentiated content and experiences which are “beyond the ordinary” to grow consumer engagement with the Red Bull brand across most relevant partnered & 3rd party media, Social and Owned Media (redbull.com, Red Bull TV). The Head of Regional Media Central provides media expertise to complement and evolve the local regions marketing mix in partnership with Brand, Sports, Culture and On-premise Marketing. She/he acts as an entrepreneur in his/her region, building and nurturing the most engaged teams, working with the best and most innovative partners, constantly fostering media innovation and development of business opportunities in consumer communication and interaction through digital and traditional media channels. Ultimately, the Regional Head of Media Central is accountable for the execution of all media outputs of event projects territory and always on media amplification (athletes, creators, earned coverage etc).

LEADERSHIP

As a key leader on both the MLT table of the region and nationally as part of the RBMN leadership team, this role has a large leadership and execution accountability. At the region level, this role is accountable for helping build the very best marketing and media plan that helps deliver to the overall RBNA business plan. At the national Red Bull Media Network leadership table, this role is accountable for bringing forward the very best media opportunities and advocating for the prioritization and amplification of the ideas from the region at a national and even global level. Specifically, this role will need to deliver: The development of the right media plan for the region. As head of the media team, your role is accountable for prioritizing the activity that will drive the largest outcomes for the business. We cannot do everything; your primary role is to assess ideas and align the right media tactics and resources to deliver the best plan week in and out for the entire 52 weeks of each year Have a deep understanding and passion for our product and for Red Bull’s target audiences to drive external strategic communications and content for both. Develop, execute, and monitor the Central regions media direction by building year-around plans (in conjunction with the national functional leads) encompassing: Identifying, creating, and curating engaging ’beyond the ordinary’ content that excites and inspires an evolving consumer base, originating from local marketing assets or the national network or the global network Executing third party distribution partnerships and opportunities as defined by National team Ongoing consumer insights and reporting from your region to provide real time shifts in what is the best media plan for the audience opportunity in the Central territory Ongoing creative ideation alongside the Santa Monica teams to utilize and complement the global national portfolio with differentiated local stories and media experiences. Intimately know and understand the local consumers media consumption habits and related media market. Build a strong network of production companies and talents, videographers, and photographers, to effectively bring content to life. Has a strong network of journalists, editors, and producers who you work with to drive nonpaid or organic eyeballs to the world of Red Bull Ensures that the regional media team is aligned with all media strategies across product, events, creators/influencers, athlete, and dancer projects to adapt and develop hyper locally relevant plans Works with the field marketing and regional marketing teams to “mine and uncover” the best ideas with media potential working with Santa Monica experts to bring these from idea to fully developed projects and or media products. Under the Head of the Regional Media team, there are the following teams and expertise that the role is ultimately accountable for in delivering the regional and national marketing and media plans.

COMMUNICATIONS

This team is the central point of contact across the region for brand, culture, sport and the on-premise marketing teams to engage with the media network on their ideas, projects and needs. The communications team will assess the media value and requirements and provide counsel and options on the right approach to derive the best media outcomes for the stated marketing ambition (i.e. to drive more EPCs into the WORB via media, we recommend the following media tactics). The communications team will then recommend the appropriate media project ambitions, project set-up and project brief. In execution the communications team are responsible for all earned outcome for projects but also always on for the brand and product across the territory. Driving all traditional media, earned social (coordination of creator, athletes and all third-party content), hosting media on site, media mixers, crisis communication, product communication and the hiring, training and onboarding of the approved photographer list. This team works with Santa Monica to maintain the list of approved photographers and communications agencies and contractors that can be used by the region and field teams. The communications team is the media network liaison to the field marketing teams within their region.

PRODUCTION

The Production team is responsible for overseeing the creation and execution of high-quality, innovative content that aligns with Red Bull’s vision and resonates with target audiences, locally in the region, nationally and globally. This role involves managing Producers (both internal and freelancers), fostering relationships with key production partners and talent in the region, and ensuring the successful delivery of content to relevant owned, managed or 3rd Party channels. The Producer works with the local creative community to develop and produce content ranging from mid-form, short form, social, earned social, creator, formats and 3rd party distributed content - and is responsible for the creative quality, distinctiveness, strength of narrative storytelling, and execution. This team also manages the media equipment and media storage rooms within the region.

PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

The role of a Production Management is to make sure all media productions are made and delivered as smoothly, efficiently, safely, within budget to the designated deadline. This team oversees the strategic and organizational planning of the production process, the Production Manager is responsible for a slate of programming, which involves both in house produced material and external commissions through production partners. You may manage a team both internal and external coordinators to ensure the delivery of the programming to the designated deadline. Production management is involved in every stage of a production from initial planning, budgeting, schedules and contract negotiations, the Production Manager has an oversight during and after final delivery that all contractual obligations are met.

CREATOR MARKETING

The Creator Marketing team is responsible for developing and nurturing creator and influencer relationships within the region. The regional creator team under your guidance will develop relationships with the influencers, who influence the influencers, bringing our can and brand into the content they are making with a focus on gaming, fitness, lifestyle and our Red Bull playgrounds. This team is critical in driving the EPC’s score within the T&A funnel and the contribution to sales, via the MMM model. Whilst the creators will live in this region, they will travel across RBNA and the WORB globally ensuring we create the very best “value in kind” relationships.

MEDIA OVERSIGHT

Media Relations and Media Partnerships capabilities and people will sit physically as part of your team and region, however given the specialized expertise of these departments, these roles will report to their functional expertise leaders in Santa Monica. However, your role will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the team members, building their understanding of the region consumers and opportunities, building them as part of the team culture, leaning into the relevant opportunities they bring to the table (i.e. new third party media deals, pitching stories to the media relations team to be prioritized with key media outlets.)

  • 12 years of relevant work experience in Media
  • Is a story seeker, editorial thinker, and creative mind.
  • Experience working with media executives on executing content distribution strategies
  • A strong creative and project management background
  • Proven success in thinking strategically about how to build audience engagement
  • Understands different strengths and weaknesses of partner platforms and how to turn them into opportunities.
  • Proven leadership qualities and exceptional presentation skills
  • Excellent at building relationships in all fields of media, digital platforms, and entertainment
  • An agile, team player that knows how to get the work done
  • Works with passion and motivates others around them
  • Clear understanding of competitor activity and consumer behavior in both a media and FMCG business context
  • Lives and breathes media industry in the US
  • Excellent digital media industry knowledge
  • Hands-on, curious, open, creative
  • Leadership skills required: good presenter, motivator, excellent influencer and negotiator
  • Problem solver and good mediator aligning and coordinating conflict of interest
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Must be fluent in English, additional language skills an advantage

This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.

The base salary range for this position is $149,440 - $224,160 cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
