What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Mental Performance APC LA position at Red Bull Media House?
The APC is an athlete accelerator where we enable Red Bull athletes and select non-Red Bull athletes to become truly outstanding performers. In this role you manage the Mental Performance support delivered to athletes by the APC LA.
You carry out functional mental assessments and tests of international top-level athletes, analyze and interpret test results, and recommend and conduct individual and athlete-centered mental training and coaching strategies. Furthermore, you establish, manage and refer athletes to a network of mental health providers across North America.
To continuously develop the expertise of the Mental Performance practice of the APC LA, you also manage key relationships with partners in the field, and foster innovation. You leverage on your external network to expand the reach of the APC by driving usage by elite athletes.
In your role as Mental Performance Manager in LA you cooperate closely with the Global Mental Performance Team, liaise closely with the Head of Mental Performance and thereby contribute to the developments and strategies in Mental Performance on a global scale across Red Bull sport entities.

MANAGEMENT OF MENTAL PERFORMANCE
Manage the field of Mental Performance in LA in close alignment with the Performance Director (LA) and the Mental Performance team in Salzburg, in methodological, developmental, organizational, and strategical aspects. Manage key relationships with external technology-, research-, and sport science partners. Contribute to the growth of the APC LA by presenting and promoting the APC’s capabilities and expertise internally and externally.
MENTAL PERFORMANCE SERVICES
Assess, test, and diagnose athletes on their mental skills, executive functions, and relevant cognitive and affective factors. You interpret, summarize, and document athletes’ results in mental tests and assessments and actively participate in interdisciplinary athlete-focused meetings.
REMOTE SUPPORT
Provide ongoing support to athletes remotely via video calls or in the field. Create educational and practical content to be shared with the Red Bull athlete community.
MENTAL HEALTH
Help athletes with Mental Health concerns to receive the appropriate help from a qualified Mental Health provider through a confidential referral process

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
- 5 years of experience in the above-mentioned fields.
- Exceptional experience and proven track record in individual and team consultations of international athletes from a variety of sports within the field of mental performance or sport psychology.
- Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.
- Experience in managing a network of experts and specialists in mental performance, health, and lifestyle.
- Experience in working in interdisciplinary teams.
- Basic knowledge of relevant fields in sport science.
- Personal experience in competitive/elite sports preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, professional work attitude, and good analytical skills are required.
- Good understanding and experience with new technologies preferred.

Salary : $85,360 - $128,040
