Purpose of Position
A Red Caboose Lead Teacher is responsible for the academic, social-emotional growth, and development of all children in their care, which may include toddlers and/or preschool age children
The Lead Teacher will also develop partnerships with the child’s parents/caregivers to engage and encourage parent participation within the program. The Lead Teacher is also responsible for assuring compliance with codes of all State and Local governing agencies (Including all Accreditation and Lic

sng)The Lead Teacher will also be a team player and work collegially with staff members of the Red Caboose Organization. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for the same duties as the Assistant Teacher, but will include the duties below, and in addition to any other duties as outlined by the Program Direct and/or the Executiv

• On an ongoing basis, plan, evaluate, and improve, the physical environment in the classroom to create opportunities to meet the changing needs of t

e develoing child• Demonstrate cultural competency, a firm understanding of inclusiveness, and respect for the for child and the family’s background by incorporating the cultural, linguistic, and familial values and beliefs in the childcare pro

• Assist families in the transition and development of their child to prepare them to transitio

Qualifications
A) Education - Must meet State Licensing requirements for a teacher, Child Development Associate (CDA) Cr

ntial or AA/BS in Child Development, preschool educain or a related field, or have equivalent exper
ience.
B) Experience - Prefer at least one year xerience, prefer experience with age group of position.
C) Physical ¬- Must be able, within reason, to lift equipment and children during routine care (such as diapering, cuddling, napping and transitions). Must be able to participate in physical activities with the children (such as games and walking fie
