Red Cedar TG is seeking a dynamic, proactive, and self-starting Project Manager/Telecommunications Engineer to join our team in the greater San Antonio, TX market.
This position is responsible for managing telecommunications projects and delivery technical solutions and installation for customers in the greater San Antonio market and beyond. This role includes traditional project management functions such as managing scope, schedule, and cost; but also includes a lead delivery role in performing highly technical work and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Manage telecommunication projects, including those integrated into larger construction projects, within company and project management office (PMO) established goals for quality, safety, timeliness, budget, and profitability.
- Manage project scope including change management and delivery strategies.
- Establish milestones/schedules and monitor progress.
- Provide programmatic oversight to projects throughout their lifecycle, taking an active role in all aspects of the process from award to close out.
- Coordinate the activities of project team members at multiple locations and on multiple projects. Manage customer and stakeholder relationships.
- Participate in project estimation, proposal development, and business development activities.
- Plan, design, and implement telecommunication systems, including voice, data, and/or video communication systems.
- Measure project performance using appropriate project management tools.
- Review, label, and approve all job costs for payment by project or program.
- Ensure financial information accuracy between program-level and sub-project reporting.
- Communicate regularly with client, stakeholders, and management regarding key issues that may impact project completion, budget, or other results.
- Conduct cost variance and schedule analysis against baseline values.
- Assist in coordinating staffing needs for projects including equipment requests, timekeeping setup, and onboarding.
- Recommend and execute corrective actions to handle project compliance.
Required
- Proven experience in project management with a focus on telecommunications
- Experience with administrative processes such as supplier management, budgeting, managing change orders, directing/creating technical documentation, and other areas adjacent to project management
- Knowledge of modern telecommunications and project management tools and software
- Experience with estimation including materials and level of effort
- Experience with Microsoft Project or similar project/schedule management software
- Experience with project submittals, technical drawings/specifications, subcontracts, and invoicing
- Experience with managing vendor relationships (i.e., Graybar) and material budgets/procurement
- Excellent speaking, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, especially Excel)
- Must be able to pass criminal background check prior to employment.
- Experience working directly with customers and stakeholders
- Experience supervising installation teams at multiple locations
- Ability to work with diverse individuals, including cross functional teams (i.e, network, finance, etc.)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret clearance within 180 days
Desired
- Experience bidding and managing contracted projects for the US Federal Government
- Experience supporting implementing wireless/cellular telecommunications systems
- Experience with BuilderTrend, Procore, or Bluebeam
- Current PMI Project Management Professional certification
- BA in business or related discipline
