JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION:Lawn Care – LTE
LOCATION:Facilities Maintenance, Tribal Properties
WAGE:$15.00 per hour, 20 hours to 40 hours/week
SUPERVISOR:Public Works Administrator & Maintenance Supervisor
THIS IS A LIMITED TERM NON-EXEMPT POSITION. APPLICANTS WILL BE SELECTED FROM THE INFORMATION SUPPLIED ON APPLICATION FORM ONLY. THERE WILL BE NO INTERVIEWS.
JOB SUMMARY: Mowing & trimming services for tribal properties. Maintain growth to a minimum of 3” and remove any debris from properties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acknowledge and adhere to standard safety procedures.
- Mowing and weed-eating of tribal properties.
- Maintain equipment used.
- The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position. The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the supervisor.
SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: None
KNOWLEDGE: Preferred experience with a zero-turn mower and weed whip.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of high school diploma, HSED or GED, preferred.
- Ability to self-motivate and work both independently and with others is a must.
- Ability to work in the outdoors in extreme conditions.
- A valid driver’s license, vehicle and appropriate vehicle coverage and maintain driver’s is preferred, but not required. If licensed driver, must be eligible to be put on the tribe’s vehicle insurance policy.
PERSONAL CONTACTS: Daily contact will be made with the supervisor and other staff. Occasionally contact with general public and the Tribal Community.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work in the outdoors while exposed to the elements. Ability to drive, walk and stand for prolonged periods. Physical ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primarily a vigorous field-oriented position involving; lifting, bending, and walking on uneven terrain especially in hot and humid weather. Must be able to bend and lift 50 lbs. All Tribal Buildings are smoke free.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Local travel only.
