POSITION: Radiology Technologist
LOCATION: Red Cliff Community Health Center (RCCHC)
SUPERVISOR: Clinic Manager
WAGE: Dependent upon individual credentials and experience
THIS IS A REGULAR PART-TIME NON-EXEMPT POSITION
JOB SUMMARY: The Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech) will provide care in an integrated setting that includes direct client service and collaborative efforts with other community providers to provide a comprehensive and evidence-based approach to care for individuals, families and the Red Cliff community. The Rad Tech will be a registered technologist with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, comply with State of Wisconsin regulations and Indian Health Service standards of care and personal certification requirements within the organizational structure of the Red Cliff Community Health Center.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently perform x-rays, Holter monitor, EKG, and other services within scope of practice.
- Work as a team member in an integrated setting by collaborating with other providers and staff to provide holistic care to patients.
- Responsible for accurate and timely documentation of services within the Electronic Health Record (EHR), PACS, and other systems to ensure effective coordination of services.
- Responsible for maintaining relationship with current Radiology Associates to include but not limited to; processing invoices, sending X-rays with supporting documentation, entering reports into the EHR, and communicating with Care Teams and other Providers.
- Performs or coordinates preventative maintenance and troubleshooting for radiology and cardiac monitoring equipment.
- Responsible to maintain all Radiology policies updated to current evidence-based standards.
- Completes timely radiological records and reports, including safety, shielding, and quality improvement monitoring.
- Maintain an adequate, up to date supply inventory for Radiology program supplies, equipment, forms, patient care items, educational materials. Order replacement items according to RCCHC policies to insure proper fiscal management.
- Manage Cancer prevention activities:
- Ensure objectives are met annually of the Wisconsin Well Women’s state grant.
- Manage the annual budget of the Wisconsin Well Women’s state grant.
- Submit annual narrative report of patients enrolled, activities completed, and outreach done.
- Coordinate, schedule, and direct the Mammogram screening program.
- Provide annual education for staff, patients, and the Red Cliff community on cancer prevention and screening recommendations.
- Participate in community education and prevention programs, independently and in collaboration with other Health Center staff and programs.
- Develop an annual plan for radiology services, funding or grant requests, and budgets for submission to the Administrator, Red Cliff Community Health Center, the Tribal Council, funding sources and oversight bodies.
- Establish referral resources to make available to community residents specialty services and treatment consistent with program objectives and fiscal restraints.
- Monitor community radiology service needs with an aim to addressing those needs with augmented or modified services.
- Maintain the proper professional certification or licensure and credentialing.
- Prepare and maintain manuals, records, documents, periodic reports, and other materials as required by the Tribal Council, funding sources, and certification bodies.
- Insure the confidentiality of all client specific information and data in accord with federal and state guidelines and requirements.
- Participate in continuing education efforts to maintain professional certifications or licensure and to enhance work related knowledge and skills.
- Implement quality improvement projects and measures in appropriate service areas and participate in such activities within the context of the Health Center at large.
- Adhere to a professional code of conduct and applicable federal and state laws and regulations in the discharge of these assigned duties.
- Attend meetings, in-services, and other events as specified by the immediate supervisor or administration.
- Exercise responsibility for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate Degree from an accredited institution in Radiology Technology. Complete 24 continual education credits biennially (Category A or A CE credit units).
- Hold a current Wisconsin Radiographer License. Entry level examination in Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Must be a registered Radiologic Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- One-year experience in Radiology preferred.
- Meet or exceed the minimum standards of character as prescribed by P.L. 101-630 and WI State Statutes s. 48.685 and s. 50.065 and as subsequently amended and applied to certain classes of Tribal employees.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and regular access to a motor vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
- Able to travel throughout the community, attend meetings, and participate in community educational programs.
PERSONAL CONTACTS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The duties assigned to this position may involve bending, stooping, lifting and carrying. Items may be placed in overhead storage. Weights to be carried are usually less than 50 pounds. The work requires regular and recurring periods of standing, walking, and lifting
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The assigned work area will be maintained as clean, non-smoking, and well ventilated with adherence to all safety requirements when client contacts are within the Red Cliff Community Health Center. Private residences, when utilized for professional activities, will not necessarily meet the criteria of the established environmental safety regulations.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: The ability to travel and attend meetings and trainings; overnight and out of town, both locally & nationally. Able to travel throughout the community, attend meetings, and participate in community educational programs.
