Key Responsibilities
Controller for multiple Family Office clients :
- Develops accounting procedures and recommends changes
- Responsible for client engagements : ensure timely and accurate execution of daily accounting, provide valuable insights, and maintain outstanding client satisfaction
- Timely communication with clients and team members on a daily basis
- Oversight, management, and coaching of multiple bookkeepers and accountants
- Preparation of financial statements and customized reports
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- Communication with clients on financial performance and recommendations
- Troubleshoot accounting and technology / software issues
- Preparation / review of month end and year end workpapers
- Fill-in bookkeeper as needed
- General Ledger maintenance
- Work closely with clients in facilitating payroll and payroll tax reporting
- Handle all record keeping of investments in accounting system (Brokerage, Private Investments, Real Estate, etc)
- Verify & Oversee distributions received from Private Investments / Alternatives
- Possibly Execute capital calls for Private Investments / Alternatives
- Posting of monthly journal entries
- Reconciliation of bank accounts
- Reconciliation of all Brokerage Investment accounts (possibly oversee integration of such data)
- Prepare annual 1099s and recurring sales tax returns
