Job Summary:
The Field IT Engineer is responsible for the delivery of IT services to Techromatic customers. You will function as a senior technical resource and manager on the technical team. This position reports to the COO of Techromatic.
The Field IT Engineer is a team player, who has had hands-on experience in dozens-if-not-hundreds of different IT environments, with a focus on SMBs. They've lived (and learned) through IT battles, experienced IT glory, and understand IT defeat. And have a great sense of judgment and responsibility.
The Field IT Engineer will build strong relationships and keep customer satisfaction high. They will be able to make smart/thoughtful recommendations based on the customer's needs, capabilities, and constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to client sites for issues that require an in-person presence
- When not scheduled to be on site, responsible for the resolution of level II tickets and lower level tickets that need to be escalated
- Learn the customers environments, customer's needs, and develop strategies to keep customer satisfaction high
- Troubleshoot local IT environments (Firewalls, servers, network, etc…), cloud environments, SAAS products, DNS, and administering these environments
- Develop a deep knowledge and understanding of all Techromatic systems and processes as well as our client's systems and processes
- Maintain full knowledge and detailed understanding of outstanding work and projects via our PSA
- Demonstrate expertise in problem solving complicated issues to successful resolution
- Stay abreast of the latest developments, advances and trends in our industry
- Maintain excellent (and current) documentation
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, or cyber security
- Minimum five (5) years overall current and hands-on expertise with:
- Desktop Operating systems: Windows 10, and Mac OS 10/11
- Physical and virtual server hardware
- Understand computer networking/connectivity including the Internet, TCP/IP, and DNS
- Azure directory services, including Intune RMM
- Google Workspace and MS 365 Administration
- Ubiquity Unifi Wifi equipment
- Workstation peripherals (printers, scanners, etc…)
- Microsoft Office software and plugins
- 3rd party software applications running on Windows and Mac computers
- Mobile devices - iOS and Android
- Experience with Autotask PSA and Datto a plus
