Overview
The Director of Sales plays a critical role in optimizing the sales organization's efficiency and effectiveness. This position is responsible for designing and implementing strategic sales processes, managing sales technology and tools, and driving data-driven decision-making to achieve revenue targets and enhance overall sales performance.
Responsibilities
- Market the business utilizing both company contacts and personal business relationships.
- Maintain high visibility in the local community by active involvement in business and professional organizations.
- Be aware of leads and growth potential in the Region.
- Perform market research and conduct cold calls as necessary.
- Keep abreast of pertinent competitor information such as job losses, gains, etc.
Sales Analytics
- Create and maintain sales reports and dashboards for tracking key metrics and performance indicators.
Sales Tools and Technology
- Evaluate and implement sales tools and technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Manage and integrate new technologies to optimize efficiency in sales processes and improve customer experiences.
Forecasting and Planning
- Collaborate with the Division Vice President/Branch Manager to develop accurate sales forecasts and quotas.
- Monitor sales performance against forecasts and provide recommendations for adjustments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with other departments to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between sales and other teams.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Business or other related field of study OR experience in advertising and promotional products industry.
- 3-5 years of prior experience in service Sales.
- Proven work experience as a sales representative.
- Excellent computer skills - MS Office, Outlook, CRM.
- Ability to work and prioritize independently, self-motivated and driven.
- Must be detail oriented, have strong creative, analytic, critical thinking, decision making and presentation skills.
- Exposure to a B2B and distributor sales environment preferred, but not required.
- A passion to sell; Excellence in Customer Service.
- Effectively communicates, both written and verbally.
- Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills.
- Results-driven and actively seeks out and engages customer prospects.
