Area Team Lead Shipping
Primarily assigned to perform and lead the shipping department operations retrieving Finished Goods, while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and productivity. Performs a variety of functions, which include: Sorting and prioritizing of orders, verification of order print jobs, scanning orders to produce tags and labeling, inventory control, supply documentation, data input, material distribution and delivery. Safely operates lift trucks and related material handling equipment as required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Conducts and successfully complete all processes & procedures within the shipping department by leading by example.
- Safely operates lift trucks as required to retrieved and returned inventory.
- Sorts and prioritizes all orders to facilitate continuous picking operations within the shipping department
- Maintains all document controls to assure pick list printing to pick hand off to the shipping team is seamless.
- Provides training to all direct reports and feedback for all picking & shipping transactions to expressed the emphasized of accuracy for all processes within the shipping department.
- Use the Open Delivery Line Report to validate order ship dates and inventory availability.
- Use the Orphaned Delivery Line Report to cleared all orphaned lines for Memphis
- Use the Data Warehouse Weekly Shipped to gauge the shipping daily output for any given week & assigns tasks/zones to all direct reports.
- Use the On-Time Shipping data to gauge the shipping department performance and the breakdown analysis to ensure we’re performing to our customer’s expectations.
- Conducts pick transactions to allow all allocated inventory to be moved to the desired staging locations.
- Processes backorder and cycle count requests when appropriate and coordinated these transactions with CSR. Distribution Supervisor, & the Inventory & Receiving Lead.
- Uses Red Dot Packaging System to scans orders to receive pick tags & customer’s labels.
- Coordinates picking operations with Distribution Supervisor & Packaging Lead, & Shipping team.
- Coordinates staging of orders with Distribution Supervisor to facilitate efficiency and on-time shipping.
- Conduct dock audits on pending outbound shipments to help reduce errors and allows successful verification and packing.
- Use customer’s website portal to process & schedule their outbound shipments
- Worked closely with Distribution Supervisor & CSR department to investigate and correct shipments/transactions that are sending errors internally & externally.
- Validate that all direct reports are abiding by all safety rules as it’s pertain to equipment & PPE.
- Maintain cleanliness for the entire shipping dock as it pertains to 5S.
- Other duties as assigned by Distribution Supervisor and/or Operations Manager

- Ensure a professional appearance, use professional verbiage and maintain appropriate body language.

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
Experience
- 2-3 years of material handling
- Ability to access data on a computer and accurately process/enter information required.
- Forklift certification required.
- Attend Leadership training as required
- Work mandatory overtime, as required by the business need
- Good attendance record
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with peers, supervisors and upper management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Working knowledge of various MS Office Programs (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
