Job Description
The Red Gate Group is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Application Developer to support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in Springfield, VA. This role is pivotal in advancing financial data management solutions, streamlining processes, and developing cutting-edge applications to enhance efficiency across the enterprise.
As an Application Developer, you will lead research efforts, analyze complex financial data workflows, and develop solutions using Python, SQL, VBA, and SQL Server. This role requires an experienced professional who can modernize legacy systems, drive automation, and optimize data processing for financial management operations within NGA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead research and analysis efforts to understand business processes, define requirements, and implement process improvements.
- Develop and implement financial data management solutions using Python, VBA, SQL, SQL Server, Microsoft Access, and Excel.
- Convert legacy programming languages into modern frameworks, including SQL Server and Python.
- Assess, define, and develop technical requirements for system enhancements and automation.
- Ensure seamless integration and interoperability of financial applications by participating in system engineering and technical exchange meetings.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to validate system operational needs, extract technical requirements, and develop system enhancements.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including user manuals, desk guides, and SOPs, ensuring updates occur annually.
- Participate in milestone events such as requirement reviews, design reviews, and program management reviews.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI Clearance (CI poly preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 15 years of experience in application development and data management.
- 3 years of experience developing automated financial solutions using Python, VBA, SQL, SQL Server, Microsoft Access, and Excel.
- 3 years of experience extracting technical requirements and translating them into configuration changes and system enhancements.
- 3 years of experience communicating technical solutions effectively to diverse audiences, including senior executives.
Desired Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience working with financial data and reports.
- 3 years of experience with Momentum-based financial systems.
- 3 years of experience developing reports using the COGNOS reporting tool within the Intelligence Community.
- 3 years of experience with the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL).
- Master’s degree in Business, IT, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, or related field, or 20 years of total experience.
