About the JobThe Red Hat Portfolio Lifecycle Management team is looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to join our team in Boston, MA. In this role, you will work as an integral part of a team responsible for planning, developing, testing, and releasing software solutions, and providing an excellent customer experience. You'll work with geographically distributed teams focusing on different product releases and coordinate their deliverables and schedules. You’ll also develop and nurture key relationships with product management, development management, and quality engineering (QE) management and other functions as appropriate. As a Technical Program Manager (TPM), you’ll need to have expertise in both program management and business analysis to understand the requirements and business drivers derived from the Red Hat product strategy and use this to facilitate collaboration across the portfolio. You’ll have a great opportunity to make a difference in both new and existing Red Hat programs.Red Hat's Portfolio Lifecycle Management organization is dedicated to delivering a unified strategy across the Red Hat portfolio that amplifies customer feedback and drives an improved product experience.What You'll Do : Lead and coordinate complex, multi-phased product releases by guiding cross-functional teams in the definition, planning, execution, and delivery of high quality software.Oversee all aspects of new and existing programs through the full product lifecycle.Develop and maintain the master plan, schedule, dependency log, and status for multiple releasesDevelop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders while fostering an environment of collaboration, trust, and accountability within and across teamsFacilitate recurring team meetings, enabling agile development techniquesIdentify risks, issues, and problems in software engineering processes and develop detailed recovery, mitigation, and scaling plansIdentify and track cross-product dependenciesCreate reports and dashboards in Jira, Smartsheets, and other toolsWhat You'll Bring : Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience5 years of experience delivering technology-related services or offeringsAbility to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional and internationally distributed environment and effectively use traditional and virtual communicationsExperience with multiple software development and project management methodologies, tools, requirements management and defect tracking systemsExperience leading teams via multiple agile software delivery methodologiesClear, concise, and effective written and verbal communication skillsHands-on experience and familiarity with data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence theory and applicationFollowing is considered a plusPractical expertise with open source software and Linux is a plusProject Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification or other relevant industry certifications are a plusThe salary range for this position is $144,660.00 - $238,650.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.Pay TransparencyRed Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and / or equity.
