We are exclusively representing a privately held family-owned baking company to help them identify a strong Production Manager. The Production Manager holds a vital position in the senior leadership team of the company. Their primary duty is to supervise the daily production of the first shift in all aspects. They are a significant link in the chain of command as they report directly to both the Plant Manager / Head of Production and the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
The Production Manager must be enthusiastic about desserts and have 5 years of experience in Baking, Pastry, or other high volume Food Service sectors. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, a "hands-on" team player & a strong communicator.
Production Manager Role
Efficiently execute daily production to the expected level of excellence
Responsible for overseeing, leading, and mentoring a group of 30 individuals in a production team
Support implementing and documenting procedures to improve production
Research and development for new products and product improvement
Uphold the company's reputation for producing high-quality work and ensuring the utmost safety standards in the industry.
Production Manager Responsibilities :
Establish and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production objectives by reporting directly to the Plant Manager / Head of Production and the COO.
Oversee the daily production of multiple different production departments to ensure efficiency and quality are maintained
Master, demonstrate, and enforce our company's Good Manufacturing Processes
GMPs) across all production areas
Responsible for managing and scheduling a diverse production team comprising 30 employees with a range of roles, including Assistant Production Managers, Team Leaders, and Staff Members.
Continue to build our cohesive, "ran-do" teamwork ethic across our production staff. Help build our continually growing production team through developing and overseeing cross-training exercises.
Provide suggestions on how to enhance the production workflow to achieve better quality, safety, and efficiency
Consistently review and evaluate the current desserts, practices, and team performance. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Skills and Experience :
5 years of experience in the baking, dessert, food service, or food manufacturing industry
3 experience in leading and organizing large teams to work cohesively.
3 year experience working within a HAACP or SQF-controlled production environment
Possess the ability to follow, scale, and design recipes
Capable of handling all the required documentation related to production reports and production logs
Possess the skills to effectively lead and manage tasks within tight deadlines, while ensuring that high-quality standards are maintained
