Our client is a food products company with operations in Wisconsin, specializing in Hispanic Cheese. We are assisting them in identifying a successful Quality Assurance Manager to oversee food safety. The ideal candidate will drive the implementation of food safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage quality initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the company's commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead food safety programs at two Wisconsin facilities, ensuring compliance with USDA, FDA, FSMA, and other regulatory standards.
- Implement and maintain food safety protocols, including GMP, HACCP, SSOP, and EMP.
- Manage audits and inspections, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in quality and safety processes.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the food safety and quality team, making independent decisions in the absence of direct on-site FSQ support.
- Ensure compliance in dairy production, focusing on process improvement and risk management.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 5 years of leadership experience in food manufacturing, preferably in dairy industries.
- Extensive knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FSMA, SSOP, and regulatory compliance with USDA and FDA standards.
- Experience in implementing food safety programs from scratch and managing audits.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently.
