TREATMENT DIRECTOR
O-BAH-SHIING TREATMENT CENTER
Open: March 14, 2025 Closing: April 17, 2025 @ 12:00 p.m.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for directing the public entity charged with planning, funding, monitoring and evaluating a system of care for mental illness and substance abuse treatment and prevention. Reports to Executive Administrator, full-time position w/benefits, salary; DOQ.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Administers, direct and coordinates all administrative activities for the O-Bah-Shiing Treatment Center.
- Writes and submits grant proposals to Tribal Planning staff for approval.
- Collaborates and communicates with other communities, county and state agencies in order to promote positive public relations and meet program objectives.
- Prepares for and conducts regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Attends scheduled Tribal Council Meetings and present program progress verbally and/or in written reports.
- Participates in educational presentations for community groups (i.e., schools, other agencies).
- Makes public speaking presentations to promote understanding of the O-Bah-Shiing Treatment Center philosophy and goals.
- Adheres to state and federal policies to maintain and promote strict client and employee confidentiality.
- Responsible for the scheduling of staff on-call lists that provide on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Responsible for writing and updating Program Policies and Procedures.
- Responsible for Program Quality Improvement Plans.
- Responsible for programs budgets and planning and maintenance.
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a high school diploma and/or three (3) years' experience in the field of human services.
- Must have a valid Minnesota Driver's license and personal auto insurance.
- Knowledge of the principles and practice of management in the areas of budget development, personnel management, program planning and evaluation.
- Knowledge of theory, principles, practices of chemical dependency rehabilitation experience and substance abuse prevention strategies.
- At least four (4) years of chemical dependency rehabilitation experiences, including two years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to work with and relate to American Indians with previous experience in working with such groups.
- Must abstain and/or refrain from using mood altering chemicals while in his/her tenure.
- Must submit to mandatory random alcohol/drug testing.
- Preferably of American Indian heritage, and knowledge of the traditions and customs of the American Indian people native to Minnesota
- Knowledge of contracts and grants
- Ability to organize, prepare and present written and oral information clearly and concisely
- Knowledge and experience with substance abuse prevention quality improvement processes
- Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check
