Position Description Overview
The Classroom Assistant is a licensed caregiver who provides direct care and guidance to children from 12 weeks to 6 years old. The Classroom Assistant will serve an important role by working with classroom teachers to support developmentally appropriate activities, maintain classroom safety, prepare for lessons, give breaks, and care for children directly throughout their shift. The Classroom Assistant is responsible for ensuring that licensing guidelines are followed and for prioritizing classroom safety at all times.

- Strong written / verbal communication, time management, organizational, and analytical skills required
- Must be able to interact with clients and public in a pleasant, collaborative, empathetic, informed, and professional manner
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of Foundation business and remain positive or neutral on subject matters of importance to the community
- Work cooperatively and effectively with other staff, community-based organization representatives, and other professionals

- Identify and analyze problems and provide resolutions

- Coordinate meetings, phone calls, and arrangements with parties both outside and within the organization
- Set up and maintain filing systems, track work hours in ClickTime, and maintain an accurate Outlook Calendar
- Attend staff / team meetings, professional meetings, and trainings as requested.

- Physical, mental, and emotional health adequate to perform duties
- A desire to work for a non-profit is a huge plus
