Job Summary:
The Host must possess a personal and energetic personality to welcome and seat guests, ensuring their needs are accommodated. The host controls the flow of the restaurant through seating and prevents servers from getting multiple tables at one time to ensure each guest receives an excellent service experience. The Host must be aware of new menu items and specials and be able to answer all questions about the menu, including basic wine knowledge.
Essential Job Duties: include the following; other duties may be assigned:
- Greets all guests as soon as they enter the lobby/restaurant and follows up as guests leave to ensure they had a positive experience
- Is attentive to FOH atmosphere, including lighting, music volume, and overall cleanliness to ensure a positive first impression
- Protects the establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
- Maintains menu presentation by keeping menus clean; replacing damaged or soiled pages; cleaning chalkboards; lettering specials on chalkboards.
- Supports wait staff by setting up and replenishing condiment stands, trash container liners, and bus stations.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities
- Keeps up to date on activities and events in town

Valued Experience/Education: - High school diploma or GED preferred
- Restaurant experience
