Prep Cook Job Summary:
The prep cook gets the kitchen ready for production every day. After all, we cannot make our famous pizza pie without our fresh, homemade dough! This includes prepping food for the pizza line, baking, and preparing all pizza dough daily while ensuring our products are made consistently to our high standards.
Essential Job Duties: include the following; other duties may be assigned:
- Ensures customer satisfaction with efficient and friendly service and a high standard for food preparation and presentation
- Sets up and or ensures prep stations and line stations are stocked with all necessary supplies and ingredients daily
- Prepares ingredients for each menu item using our proven recipes
- Memorizes and utilizes our serving portion sizes and all basic prep procedures used in the kitchen
- Ensures that the kitchen, all food prep areas, and all food storage areas meet restaurant code cleaning standards
- Constantly maintains a clean work environment; cleans kitchen and dishes
- Ensures job tasks are completed at the end of the shift
- Maintains portion control with all prep items
- Monitors product freshness and rotates out an old product based on a schedule
- Ability to operate an industrial dishwasher safely and rapidly
- Follows sanitation and safety policies at all times and trains other prep staff on these policies
- Performs daily duties such as opening and side work
- Basic janitorial skills to clean up spills, broken glassware, etc., immediately

Valued Experience/Education:
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred
- 2-3 years Line Cook or equivalent

Work Environment: This job operates in a kitchen environment. This role uses ovens, grills, knives, and mixers, among other restaurant equipment. This role routinely uses sinks, dishwashers, and tools to clean kitchen appliances. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to long periods of standing. The nature of hospitality requires employees to work weekends, holidays, and late hours. The nature of this position requires competent use of commercial dishwashers, mixers, ovens, grills, food processors, and knives.
