2nd Shift Maintenance Technician
Performs maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment, machinery, and facilities in a food manufacturing facility. Work performed will include PLCs, servo motors and drives, electrical circuits, and other related systems. Safely operates a forklift or scissor lift at times when performing assigned duties. Completes work assigned in a timely manner and completes documentation required. Troubleshoots equipment and machinery to identify issues and find solutions. Performs preventive maintenance and monitors inventory levels for parts and supplies. Uses a computer data program to input maintenance data. Our 2nd Shift Team works Monday - Friday 2PM to 10:30PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety. Works in a safe manner. Complies with safe work practices, at all times. Completes forklift certification as required. Reports unsafe conditions or situation to supervisor or management. Understands and fully complies with Lock-out/Tag-out procedures for all equipment and machinery.
- Food Safety. Complies with and executes Good Manufacturing Practices. Recognizes non-compliance and takes action to correct or report observed violations of GMPs.
- Maintenance, Repair, and Installation. Performs minor and major repair of equipment and machinery. Calibrates and repairs pneumatic systems, PLCs, motors, drives and conveyers. May perform fabrication as part of assigned duties. Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required. Installs equipment to standard. Meets productivity requirements for assigned work. Work is performed in a warehouse and production environment. The employee is required to safely operate a forklift or other material moving equipment and to physically handle parts and tools. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Inventory Control. Monitor’s maintenance parts and supplies inventories and takes action to ensure minimum inventory levels are maintained. May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts, and may order parts as required.
- Facility and Plant Maintenance. Completes a daily, weekly, and monthly checklist on equipment and building. May be required to perform facilities maintenance including building and grounds maintenance, and snow removal. Troubleshoots and repairs forklifts and other material moving equipment.
- Teamwork and Collaboration. Actively engages in maintenance and team meetings and provides timely feedback to team regarding work topics. Understands organizational mesh points and potential synergies. Integrates team efforts across work team. Understands available resources and utilizes those resources when appropriate.
- Leadership. Acts with integrity. Treats others with dignity and respect. Models behavior that is consistent with Red monkey Foods’ Values. Delivers on commitments and deadlines.
- Communication. Effectively communicates with team members, ensuring information regarding maintenance issues is effectively communicated to production and maintenance teams. Demonstrates sound oral and written communication skills. Communicates effectively and professionally to both internal and external parties. Executes effective customer communication and relationship building techniques.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 5 years of documented work experience in building and mechanical maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to operate a forklift and have the ability to be forklift certified, within 30 days of hire.
- Knowledge of PLCs, servo motor and drives and electrical systems and circuits.
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and production equipment.
- PREFERRED: Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Skills:
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability identify problems and develop solutions.
- Effective communication skills, appropriate for the needs of the audience
