JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Profile: We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Sales and Marketing Manager to join our commercial team at Red Monkey Foods, a leading manufacturer of retail private label spices and seasonings as well as e-commerce focused branded bath and gourmet salts. This role will support the sales and marketing efforts of the company, focusing on driving growth, maintaining customer relationships, and executing marketing strategies across our product portfolio.

Job Accountabilities and Duties:

  • Sales Support:
    • Oversee creation/preparation of sales presentation material, sales reports, and other related sales team support documents. 
    • Collaborate with the sales team on the development of sales strategies and promotional activities for existing and new products.
    • Develop and maintain all pricing and product specifications.
    • Assist in identification of new business opportunities and prospects within the retail, e-comm and contract manufacturing channels.
    • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and market positioning.
    • Manage and update RMF records with accurate customer data and sales information.
    • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, distributors, and partners.
    • Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and adherence to the “Quality, Service, Speed, Value” RMF message.
  • Marketing Coordination:
    • Oversight of outside marketing resources to develop comprehensive marketing strategy and execution timelines and accountabilities.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product development, supply chain, finance) to ensure alignment of marketing strategies with business objectives.
    • Support the development of a comprehensive digital presence, including website content, social media, and other online marketing efforts.
    • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to ensure the company’s marketing efforts are competitive and relevant.
    • Organize and manage participation in trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
    • Drive product positioning and awareness through relevant sales channels. 
    • Oversee product packaging, labeling, and other marketing collateral to ensure consistency and alignment with customer requirements and market trends.
    • Manage the execution of innovation strategies around product launches, seasonal initiatives, etc. that drive RMF “value” creation to customers and consumers.
    • Analyze marketing performance metrics and adjust strategies as necessary to optimize ROI.
    • Assist in the creation and execution of strategies to build and promote the company’s e-commerce brands.
  • E-Commerce Channel Leadership
    1. Define clear e-commerce objectives (e.g., revenue growth, market share, customer acquisition).
    2. Align e-commerce strategy with overall business goals (brand awareness, sales targets).
    3. Select key online platforms (Amazon, Walmart, DTC site, etc.) based on target audience.
    4. Direct supervision of E-Comm Manager priorities and development.
    5. Co-ordinate, update and maintain company website and D2C efforts to align with overall channel strategies
  • Market Research & Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to identify potential growth opportunities for new products or markets.
    • Analyze customer feedback and sales data to assist in developing sales forecasts and product strategies.
    • Help in the identification of customer needs and the development of targeted campaigns.

  • Direct Reports: Marketing Agencies, E-Comm Manager
  • Indirect Reports: Sales Agencies
  • Other Touchpoints:
    • Commercialization Team, (including R&D)
    • Sales Managers, E-Comm Team
    • Customer Financial Services

Incumbent Profile:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in sales and marketing (preferably within the food manufacturing or ingredient, spice/seasoning industry) is a plus.

 Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Good analytical ability, including the ability to analyze data and make sound recommendations.
  • Consistent ability to manage multiple projects from idea to solution. 
  • Solid troubleshooting, root cause analysis, action planning skills.
  • Proven financial analysis skills and practical applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or relevant software packages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience/knowledge of FMCG, private label manufacturing, and B2B sales processes is preferred.
