We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Assistant Controller to join our dynamic finance team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in working with contracts, external reporting, and financial processes. As an individual contributor, the Assistant Controller will work independently to maintain the integrity of financial records and enhance accounting procedures. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, possess excellent organizational skills, and have a passion for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of financial reporting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Handle external financial reporting, including tax filings and audits.
  • Prepare and review internal financial reports, providing analysis to identify trends and variances.
  • Review and analyze contracts to ensure proper financial treatment and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with legal and other teams to ensure contract terms are accurately reflected in financial records.
  • Manage the tracking and reporting of contract performance metrics.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and implement best practices to streamline the financial close process.
  • Work closely with the CFO to provide accurate and timely financial information.
  • Take on special projects to improve departmental processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy.
  • Assist in developing financial models and tools to support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide leadership and direction to facility management and program owners while motivating and interacting with employees to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Works cooperatively with company leaders to ensure facility repairs and maintenance are addressed timely
  • Upgrade policies for Retail Stores Operations Department
  • Establish set of desktop procedures to drive daily, weekly and monthly management routines
  • Monitor returns process performance and collaborate with the Logistics teams to drive improvements
  • Assists with the development of annual budgets supporting the short and long-term maintenance and capital improvement plans


Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong emphasis on external reporting, contract analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Proven experience working independently with the ability to handle multiple projects with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing contracts from a financial perspective.

  • Prior experience in assisting with audits and compliance reporting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and resourceful.
  • Ability to think critically and offer practical solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Results-driven with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
