Position: Infant Room Assistant Teacher
Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch break)
Location: Red Oak Child Development Center
Job Summary:
Red Oak Child Development Center is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to join our team as an Infant Room Assistant Teacher. This role requires a nurturing and patient individual who is passionate about early childhood development and dedicated to supporting the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and loving environment for our youngest learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in providing attentive care and supervision to infants, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support the implementation of age-appropriate activities, including sensory play, tummy time, and other developmental exercises.
- Follow individual schedules for feeding, diapering, and nap times, while maintaining consistency and meeting the unique needs of each child.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, feedings, diaper changes, and milestones to share with parents.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents regarding their child’s development, progress, and any concerns, as directed by the Lead Teacher.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment.
- Adhere to state licensing regulations, safety protocols, and center policies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; CDA (Child Development Associate) certification or higher education in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Previous experience working with infants in a childcare setting is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of infant development, including motor skills, communication milestones, and attachment.
- Ability to lift and carry infants and move around the classroom as needed.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must pass a background check and meet state requirements for childcare workers.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
