What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nesting Programmer position at Red Oak Fabrication?
Job Summary:
The Laser Programmer is a member of the manufacturing team and is responsible for creating, modifying and nesting metal parts/ components using ProNest and Tube Master software to assist in the operation of various lasers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Program and nest parts for laser cutting using laser specific software for daily production
- Using system software to create programs that efficiently use the material on hand
- Assisting in house customer service representatives and machine operators
- Develop and optimize programs for our tube cutting machine using software like Tube Master or similar software systems.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to program accurate cut paths
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, use initiative, and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently
- Ability to work in a team and independently – strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction and written processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- 1 year of related experience preferred. Willing to train the right applicant.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of fabrication and machine shop.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
