Job Description:
We are looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic team at our urgent care center. As an LPN, you will play a critical role in providing quality patient care in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. You will assist in patient assessments, provide clinical support to the healthcare providers, and ensure smooth daily operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate).
- Assist in obtaining patient history and documenting relevant medical information.
- Administer medications, including oral, topical, and injectable medications, as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
- Prepare and assist with patient exams, minor procedures, and treatments.
- Assist with wound care and dressing changes.
- Provide patient education on prescribed treatments, medications, and follow-up care.
- Monitor patient conditions, report any changes or concerns to the healthcare provider, and document appropriately.
- Clinical Support:
- Assist with lab specimen collection (e.g., urine, blood) and perform basic in-office lab tests as needed (e.g., rapid strep, glucose testing).
- Perform EKGs, wound cleaning, and other basic clinical tasks as directed.
- Administer vaccines and injections.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of medical equipment, medications, and supplies.
- Patient Interaction:
- Establish a rapport with patients to provide a compassionate and caring environment.
- Answer patient questions and provide instructions on medical procedures, medications, and post-care.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical staff to provide the best care to patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Ensure patient information is accurately documented in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist in maintaining inventory of medical supplies and medications.
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and prepared for patient use.
- Participate in routine equipment checks and ensure sterilization standards are maintained.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of [Insert State].
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) may be preferred.
- Previous experience in an urgent care, emergency room, or outpatient clinic setting preferred.

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, move, and position patients when needed.
