Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership:
- Supervise and lead warehouse staff in day-to-day activities, including receiving, storing, picking, and shipping products.
- Assign tasks to team members and ensure completion in a timely and efficient manner.
- Monitor workflow to maintain productivity and achieve performance goals.
- Inventory Management:
- Ensure accurate tracking and recording of inventory levels.
- Perform regular inventory audits and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager to maintain appropriate stock levels and reorder as needed.
- Shipping and Receiving:
- Oversee the receiving and inspection of incoming goods to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Coordinate and verify outgoing shipments to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements.
- Prepare shipping documents and maintain detailed records.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections of warehouse operations to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Identify and report any quality issues, working with relevant departments to address them.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Promote and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
- Conduct regular safety checks on equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Team Development:
- Train and mentor new and existing team members to improve skills and productivity.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- 3 years of warehouse experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience in the wildlife feed industry or similar agricultural/commodity sectors.
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- This role is primarily performed in a warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise levels.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required depending on specific tasks.
