The SunGold facility roasts, seasons, and packages premium sunflower seeds. We are seeking a dedicated Swing Shift Production Manager to oversee operations, manage production activities, ensure quality standards, and optimize efficiency during swing shift hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all production activities during the swing shift, ensuring daily production schedules are met efficiently and on time.
- Monitor and manage roasting, seasoning, and packaging processes to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Coordinate with maintenance and quality teams to minimize downtime and address issues promptly.
- Lead, supervise, and support swing shift production staff, including Maintenance, Machine operators, Packaging Associates, Production Associates, and other team members.
Quality Assurance
- Maintain and enforce quality control procedures to ensure finished products meet customer and company standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of production lines and equipment to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for production, quality, and safety.
Inventory and Resource Management
- Monitor and manage raw material and packaging inventory to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Coordinate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in operations management, food science, or a related field preferred.
- ~5 years of production experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- ~ Experience in food manufacturing, particularly roasting and packaging processes, is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Proficiency in production management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Solid understanding of quality control, safety regulations, and operational best practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
