What are the responsibilities and job description for the 9-1-1 Public Safety Telecommunicator position at Red River Regional Dispatch Center?
Public Safety Telecommunicators (PSTs) receive emergency (9-1-1) and non-emergency phone calls and dispatch appropriate Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS Units. PSTs work in an exciting 24/7 environment and there are many perks to include serving your community!
Starting pay of $25.21 with automatic yearly increases
Shift differential of $1/hour for evenings, nights, and weekends
Overtime availability to include a shift differential overtime rate ($1.50)
PSTs work 52 days less a year than your traditional 9-5 M-F work due to 10 hour shifts and 4 day works weeks. We also offer a 12 hour shift rotation which includes every other weekend off!
PTO accrual begins immediately at 5.54 hours per payroll which including holiday time, amounts to 22 days of PTO your first year! That earns you five and a half weeks of PTO your first year working!
Qualifications – High School diploma or equivalent and the ability to type 40 correct words per minute. Candidates will be subject to pass a background check.
